Report 3/12/11

Description - Fun float with Kass
River - Lower Roaring Fork
Flow - ~540cfs
Weather - Sunny/Overcast, some wind, mid 40's-50's - Water running really off-color
Big fish - Kass' 16" Brown
Techniques - Still nymphing deep
Effective Flies - Big, dark stonefly patterns - Pat's Rubber Legs, Salvations and Red CJ's
Fish story - Jimmy Houston (Kass) really set some hooks, missing some strikes.   We also rolled what appeared to be a really nice fish after floating past a small pocket of water and Kass and I thinking she had snagged on the bottom.  Once she threw a few roll casts at it to try and dislodge it, there was a big splash and a big fish that jumped as well as her flies coming free.
